How you can
make a difference

.

Are you an experienced Product Owner who loves turning complex challenges into smart, scalable solutions? Do you want to play a key role in shaping a platform that helps thousands of colleagues work with data in a secure and compliant way? Then this could be your next opportunity.

At Albert Heijn, we are looking for a Product Owner to take ownership of Managed Azure Databricks — the secure Databricks environments within AH. This is a central platform offering that enables teams to work with data through ingestion, engineering, reporting, and governance in a way that is safe, efficient, and future-ready.

Managed Azure Databricks currently consists of three tenants: Multi, Single, and Lite. Your mission will be to help evolve these environments into a platform that is easy to maintain, ready for 24/7 support, and built to scale. You will play an important role in strengthening observability, improving operational readiness, and creating a platform that can also support other European banners within Ahold Delhaize.

What makes this role exciting?
This is your chance to help shape a platform that sits at the heart of Albert Heijn’s data ambitions. You will work closely with skilled engineers and stakeholders to define the product vision, set the roadmap, and bring structure and direction to a strategically important platform. Your work will directly contribute to a secure, compliant, and high-performing data environment that enables teams across the business to move faster and work smarter.

What you’ll do
In this role, you will:

  • Own and evolve the product vision and roadmap for Managed Azure Databricks
  • Collaborate with engineers to build a secure, compliant, and maintainable platform
  • Translate user and stakeholder needs into clear priorities and impactful features
  • Strengthen self-service data capabilities across the organisation
  • Improve observability, operational readiness, and scalability
  • Help prepare the platform for 24/7 support
  • Work with other product owners and teams to ensure smooth integration across the wider platform landscape
  • Use feedback, usage insights, and data to continuously improve the product
  • Contribute to the ambition of scaling the platform across Ahold Delhaize banners

What we’re looking for
You bring:

  • Experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or in a similar role within a platform or data environment
  • A strong interest in cloud technology, data platforms, and self-service enablement
  • The ability to work closely with engineers and turn complexity into clear priorities
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Experience working in agile teams and managing roadmaps and backlogs
  • A drive to build products that are secure, scalable, and genuinely valuable for users

Why join us?
At Albert Heijn, you’ll have the opportunity to shape a strategically important platform that makes a real difference for how we work with data. You’ll join a collaborative environment where your ideas, ownership, and product leadership can have visible impact — not just today, but for the future of data at Albert Heijn and beyond.

What we offer.
At Albert Heijn we aim to grow, and this is only possible if you grow along with us. As we work together to build our brand and your career, you can count on (based on 40 hours per week):

  • An annual salary up to 100k including holiday allowance and a flexible bonus. Depending on your level of seniority and experience;
  • A minimum of 20 days paid vacation, optionally 12.5 days extra. Do you want to take that extra time off, or would you rather convert the extra days into discounts or sell them for cash? You’re the end boss!;
  • Flexible working hours;
  • Access to a challenging training curriculum – AH Top Academy;
  • An excellent pension plan where we as an employer contribute 4,5 more than you as an employee;
  • A travel allowance or a NS-business card for traveling to and from Zaandam by train;
  • Attractive discounts on various insurance policies;
  • 10% staff discount on groceries in all Albert Heijn stores, to a maximum of €300 per year;
  • A free Mijn Albert Heijn Premium membership with many benefits;
  • A company laptop and telephone.
