How you can make a difference
Join our team as a Network engineer within the BeCSE Infrastructure engineering team, you contribute directly by working in close collaboration with the local brand teams from BeCSE to enable business value. You do so by developing and conveying the network and network security future proof solutions, by defining the backlog and execution on the delivery of IT and Business project, we will have the opportunity to take the lead of one or more network security theologies. Of course, you do not do this alone, but together with your Network product team colleagues in- and outside BeCSE and the business and technology stakeholders.

As a Network and Network Security Engineer, you’ll be joining our team and will be part of the Infrastructure Network & Network Security Engineering team, that is one of the 3 teams of the Regional IT Infrastructure Center of Excellence (the Infrastructure Platforms teams and the Infrastructure Operations Team). The IT Infrastructure CoE provides services to all companies that operate under the banner of Ahold Delhaize in Belgium/Luxembourg and the South-Eastern European region (Serbia, Romania, Greece, Czech Republic).
Key responsibilities of your role
• Support the implementation of network security tools and controls
• You’ll assist in deploying and maintaining monitoring, configuration, and access control tools to help safeguard our systems and data.
• Collaborate on network and infrastructure projects
• Working with senior engineers and architects, you’ll help integrate security into our local and regional network solutions, gaining exposure to enterprise architecture best practices.
• Contribute to automation and standardization efforts
• You’ll support ongoing initiatives to simplify and automate network operations, helping to improve efficiency and reduce manual work for the broader team.
• Assist in incident response and troubleshooting
• You’ll be involved in troubleshooting tasks and learn how to analyze network issues, working alongside experienced colleagues during critical incidents or performance checks.
• Learn and apply IT compliance and security standards
• You’ll gain an understanding of internal IT policies and industry’s best practices, helping to ensure that systems, tools, and processes follow established security and compliance guidelines
Requirements
We think you’ll be best geared for success if you can meet the following requirements:
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Solid knowledge of network and network security principles
• Experience with some of the following technologies is expected:
o Fortinet (FortiGate, FortiManager)
o Zscaler (ZIA, ZPA)
o Cisco ACI
o F5 (LTM, GTM, ASM, etc.)
• Strong background in networking: Cisco routers/switches, SD-WAN, Wi-Fi, Ethernet
• Proficiency with firewalls, proxies, IDS/IPS, VPNs (IPSec, SSL)
• Familiarity with cloud networking and DevOps tools is a plus
• Experience in Agile environments; certification is a bonus
• Basic knowledge of tools like Jira, Confluence, GitHub, and Microsoft Teams
• Fluent in English with excellent communication and presentation skills
