Your new work environment
At Ahold Delhaize, technology is a key enabler of both cost leadership and omnichannel growth. As Director, Head of Tech Finance, NFR, ESG & Corporate Systems, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering technology solutions that support critical enterprise functions across Finance, Not-For-Retail, ESG, and Corporate domains.
You will operate within the Group Enterprise Platforms (GEP) organization, a global, highly matrixed environment that exists to leverage the scale of Ahold Delhaize and drive value across brands and regions. Reporting into the Finance Platform, this role combines strategic leadership, domain expertise, and strong execution capabilities across a complex, international landscape.
Key responsibilities of your role
Strategy & Planning
Define domain-specific technology strategy and policies aligned with platform and enterprise objectives
Develop and execute mid-term tactical plans that balance global scale with local business needs
Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on technology, data, and domain trends
Proactively identify and propose initiatives that support strategic and financial goals
Business Partnership
Build strong relationships with global and regional business leaders
Embed agile ways of working where appropriate to accelerate value delivery
Advise stakeholders on emerging technologies, cost optimization, and competitive impact
Manage prioritization and resolve conflicts across functional and regional demands
Governance & Delivery
Ensure high delivery performance, system stability, and service quality across the domain
Lead prioritization, funding, and execution of initiatives in close collaboration with business owners
Align roadmaps, lifecycle management, and architectural decisions across regions
Drive continuous improvement in incident reduction, availability, and SLA performance
People Leadership
Lead, develop, and inspire globally distributed teams of employees and contractors
Act as a technical sparring partner for engineering and product leads
Foster an inclusive, high-performance culture aligned with Ahold Delhaize values
Ensure continuous development, engagement, and clear performance management
Financial Management & Control
Own budget oversight for the domain, including BAU and change initiatives
Ensure cost transparency, cross-charge alignment, and adherence to financial policies
Report on domain performance, risks, and outcomes to platform leadership
Requirements
We think you’ll be best geared for success if you meet the following requirements:Â
Senior leadership experience in complex, global IT or digital organizations
Deep expertise in enterprise platforms within Finance, NFR, ESG, or Corporate Systems
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge at VP and Director level
Proven experience operating in matrixed, cross-regional environments
Solid background in delivery governance, agile/SDLC methodologies, and large-scale programs
Financial acumen with experience managing multi-million-euro budgets
Excellent communication skills and cultural awareness
