Specialist Cybersecurity Human Risk & Awareness

The primary purpose of this role is to support the delivery and continuous improvement of the Human Risk and Security Awareness program by executing program activities, handling data and analytics, producing training and communication materials, and coordinating cross-functional efforts that reduce human-centric cybersecurity risks. The Specialist III helps identify behavioral risk patterns, deliver targeted interventions and awareness campaigns, support the phishing simulations program, maintain program documentation and metrics, and promote a security-first culture across the organization.

Key responsibilities of your role

Your role is highly diverse and encompasses various responsibilities. Here are the key ones:

Program Operations & Delivery

  • Support day-to-day execution of Human Risk and Security Awareness program activities, including project coordination, documentation management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Coordinate initiatives across HR, IT, Legal, Communications, Brand cybersecurity teams, and other internal partners to support effective program implementation.
  • Maintain standard operating procedures, process documentation, evidence repositories, and materials required for audits or compliance reviews.

Human Risk – Identification, Analysis & Mitigation

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to user behaviors and human risk indicators, such as phishing trends, training engagement, and access misuse patterns.
  • Support root cause analysis for human-related cybersecurity events and document contributing behavioral factors.
  • Help design and evaluate targeted interventions to influence safe behaviors and reduce risk exposure.
  • Build or maintain dashboards, KPIs, and reporting that measure human-risk trends and program effectiveness.

 

Phishing Simulation Program

  • Analyze simulation results, segment data, and assist in developing follow-up actions to reduce susceptibility and improve reporting rates.

Security Awareness – Content, Campaigns & Enablement

  • Develop or adapt awareness materials such as emails, micro-learnings, intranet articles, infographics, and short-form content aligned to risk themes.
  • Coordinate training and campaign delivery through enterprise communication channels and systems (e.g., LMS, intranet, SharePoint, Teams).
  • Provide operational support for the Security Champions program, including onboarding resources, communications, engagement activities, and metrics.
  • Incorporate insights from Human Risk analysis into new or updated awareness and training content.
  • Track awareness campaign metrics and support A/B testing to improve engagement and effectiveness.

Governance, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Support alignment of program activities with regulatory and policy obligations (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR, PCI, HIPAA, NIS2).
  • Assist with regular program reviews, reporting cycles, roadmaps, and operational improvements.
  • Contribute to the management and maintenance of program-related tools and platforms.

Requirements

We think you’ll be best geared for success if you meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Information Technology, Communications, Psychology/Behavioral Science, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2–4 years of experience in cybersecurity awareness, human risk, GRC, cybersecurity operations, communications, or related field.
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity threats and user-centric risks (e.g., phishing, credential misuse, social engineering).
  • Familiarity with standards and frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, PCI, HIPAA, or NIS2.
  • Experience with tools such as LMS platforms, phishing simulation systems, content management tools, or data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify technical concepts for nontechnical audiences.
  • Analytical skills and experience working with data, metrics, and dashboards.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage projects, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong collaboration capabilities and comfort engaging with cross-functional partners across multiple brands and geographies.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% to Ahold Delhaize locations as needed.
