Your new work environment

As a Junior Payroll & Verzuimsignaal Application Support Specialist, you will be joining our HR Tech department — the driving force behind the technology that supports our people, payroll, and rewards processes. Powered by innovative strategies, our Tech teams are fully aligned to develop, maintain, and improve the platforms that serve more than 400,000 associates across multiple countries.

In this role, you will contribute to the efficient management of payroll-enabling applications and tools, ensuring that our HR functions deliver accurate and timely payslips. You will support key systems such as Verzuimsignaal and payroll interface applications, helping us prioritize tasks, address issues quickly, and ensure seamless daily operations for critical HR services.

You will collaborate with knowledgeable colleagues from various countries, gaining exposure to multiple HR and payroll technologies. We will invest in your development, help you build strong technical and functional foundations, and support your growth into future roles within HR Tech.

 

Key responsibilities of your role

Your role is highly diverse, encompassing various responsibilities. Here are the key ones:

  • Support day-to-day Verzuimsignaal account management, including creating, modifying, and deleting user accounts in line with established procedures.

  • Execute standardized administrative processes by following detailed work instructions and established controls.

  • Act as a first point of contact for basic functional questions from colleagues and the business, escalating complex issues when needed.

  • Assist with functional management activities, including triaging inquiries and supporting data checks, reporting, and documentation.

  • Gradually build knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations related to absence management and payroll through on-the-job learning.

  • Provide administrative and operational support to HR technology and process improvement projects, including documentation, data preparation, and testing activities.

  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for systems handling sensitive data and help maintain accurate and up-to-date process documentation.

  • Identify opportunities for quality improvement and process simplification, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

We think you’ll be best geared for success if you meet the following requirements:

  • 0–2 years of experience in HR, IT support, payroll, or administration.
  • Interest in HR systems, payroll processes, and compliance tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured procedures.
  • Willingness to learn new systems and legislation step-by-step.
  • Good communication skills and a service-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
  • Fluent in English & Dutch (both spoken and written), as it is essential to communicate effectively with teams and stakeholders across different locations.

When both parties would like to continue the conversation you will be invited for an online assessement, also known as pre-employment tests. The purpose of the test is helping hiring manager determine whether a candidate has the skills, work style, knowlegde of personality to succeed in a the role.
