Your new role and environment.

You will be joining our Promotions area in Retail Business Platform execution cluster.

Teams within Promotions area are responsible for the origin and execution of attractive Campaigns, tactical, strategic and sales Promotions running within Albert Heijn. RBP promotions teams build core applications and services which create and expose these promotions to online and store platforms within Albert Heijn.

Key responsibilities of your role.

  • Has 10+ years of hands-on experience in the full software lifecycle development.
  • Has 6+ years of experience on relevant technology stack on microservices landscape - Springboot, Java/Kotlin, Github Actions/Azure DevOps/Jenkins, Kubernetes/Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Mongo DB/Postgress DB (or any noSQL DB), event streaming and messaging platform (Kafka), Azure/AWS/GCP PaaS with critical eye on non-functional requirements such as scalability, maintainability and security
  • Knowledge of GraphQL is a plus
  • Has experience driving the technical landscape, solution design, implementation, operations, business alignments, prioritization, along with the team
  • Has experience working as a lead developer, possibly team mentoring
  • Has good interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate people; 
  • Always takes a hands-on approach for software implementations
  • Has ability to use a wide variety of open source and in-house technologies and tooling
  • Has experience with Agile Frameworks, DevOps Automation and CI/CD tooling
  • Communicates key issues and progress updates in a regular, accurate, timely

Requirements.

We think you’ll be best geared for success if you can meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science
  • At least 7 years work experience as a software engineer
  • Experience with Java, Kotlin (must have), SQL, CI/CD
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD practices in an Azure Cloud environment.
  • A big plus if you also have experience with Kafka, Grafana, Postgres, and APIs

Application

Job interview(s)

After you have been selected and depending on the role, you will be invited for one or more job interviews. The job interview, which is a two way conversation, will take place online (via Teams) or at the office. You will be informed by the recruiter. This is your moment to shine (but you always do ofcourse)

Online Assessment

When both parties would like to continue the conversation you will be invited for an online assessement, also known as pre-employment tests. The purpose of the test is helping hiring manager determine whether a candidate has the skills, work style, knowlegde of personality to succeed in a the role.

Job Offer

We are thrilled to get you onboard and would like to offer you the job. In this phase we start the conversation about the details which comes with the job, such as compensation, benefits and other contract details.
