Your new work environment 

As our new Director HR Services in Greece, you will be the key driver to translate the Business Services HR agenda into local operations, ensuring top-notch HR support in compliance with local laws, regulations, and company policies. You will oversee the accuracy, effectiveness, and continuous improvement of HR processes, while acting as a liaison between HR and IT to optimize HR operations. Working closely with EU teams and the HRIT & Data Management team, you'll ensure high-quality HR services for our strong local brand Alfa-Beta Vassilopoulos (Άλφα-Βήτα Βασιλόπουλος), focusing on accuracy, reliability, and timeliness.

 

You will report to the Vice President of Business Services HR, based in Zaandam, The Netherlands, and have the autonomy to take full ownership of your role. You lead a dedicated team and drive excellence in HR service delivery. Collaborating with experienced colleagues from across multiple countries, you'll gain valuable insights and broaden your expertise. Key responsibilities of your role 

Your role is highly diverse and encompasses various responsibilities. Here are the key ones: 

 

  • Motivate, lead and support your team to ensure everyone has the resources they need to thrive. Your mission is to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels involved and valued.

  • Lead the development and execution of the HR services strategy for Greece, ensuring alignment with regional and global objectives.

  • Oversee the standardization and optimization of HR processes, ensuring they effectively support the business and drive operational efficiency (leveraging scale) in line with local labor law and regulations.

  • Lead the development and execution of an HR services roadmap that includes talent acquisition, employee relations, payroll, and other key functions.

Requirements 

We think you’ll be best geared for success if you meet the following requirements:  

  • At least 6 years of experience in a similar role in an international matrix organization 

  • Fluent in English

  • Experience in building and managing high-performing teams, ideally in retail or similar industries

  • Inclusive leadership skills, change management and results driven

 

Aside from these hard skills, we think you should also bring some much-valued soft skills to the table: an entrepreneurial mindset, outspoken communication skills and a proactive approach. In addition to these, a high level of creativity, empathy, and enthusiasm will take you far.

Job interview(s)

Online Assessment

When both parties would like to continue the conversation you will be invited for an online assessement, also known as pre-employment tests. The purpose of the test is helping hiring manager determine whether a candidate has the skills, work style, knowlegde of personality to succeed in a the role.
