About the Role

As Head of Tech, you are responsible for overseeing a specific domain within the customer technology platform, like marketing technology, digital advertising ecosystems and programmatic advertising.You are a SAAS pro and you lead IT and data service delivery, driving innovation and improvement while ensuring efficient service execution. Working closely with both internal and external experts, you ensure high quality output and maximum value within your domain. Additionally, you will lead teams and support their professional growth. You are an inspiring leader, guiding your domain with technical expertise and aligning business and technology goals. You collaborate with stakeholders to develop new services, optimize existing processes, and ensure strategic alignment.Our Customer Technology Platform is the biggest tech platform within Albert Heijn and has 8 different Head of Techs with all their specific domains. 

 

Responsibilities

Service Delivery & Innovation  
•    Responsible for IT/data service delivery in your domain.  
•    Collaborate with stakeholders to develop new and improved IT solutions.  
•    Ensure the realization of value in alignment with the platform vision.  
•    Optimize business processes through technology and data driven solutions.

 

Leadership & Team Development  
•    Lead internal and external experts and teams to deliver maximum value.  
•    Foster a positive, inclusive work environment and support the growth of team members.  
•    Act as a technical sparring partner for tech leads in your domain.

 

Strategy & Innovation  
•    Formulate policy and strategy to optimize the use of technology and data.  
•    Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management and contribute to annual planning.  
•    Prioritize projects and collaborate with other Heads of Tech to achieve strategic goals.

 

Supplier Management & Governance  
•    Ensure supplier performance and take necessary action when needed.  
•    Work with suppliers to establish and monitor technical performance metrics.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for an experienced leader with deep knowledge of IT and data platforms. You have a proven track record in managing technical teams and projects, and you stay up to date with the latest technological trends. Additionally, you have:

•    A relevant master’s degree in information technology or similar
•    A minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role.  
•    Expertise in modern IT architectures, Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and other relevant standards.  Our tech stack: java, kotlin, react, flutter, kubernetes etc
•    You have good experience with Digital advertising ecosystems and programmatic advertising. 
•    You have good experience with Customer and / or Marketing Technology
•    Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.  
•    Experience with budgeting and cost efficiency management.  
•    Strong leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
•    You have a deep understanding of digital advertising ecosystems and programmatic advertising. 
•    You're a seasoned SAAS pro, with experience handling complex implementations (think 10+). 
•    You're a strong conceptual thinker, adept at strategizing on an organizational level. 
•    You're a decisive leader, unafraid to make bold moves when necessary. 
•    You're a master of balancing practical thinking with strategic execution. 
•    You're a persistent problem solver, knowing when to push forward and when to exercise patience. 
•    You have a proven track record of leading high performing tech teams and fostering innovation. 
•    You possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. 
•    Fluency in Dutch (must be C1+), combined with strong English communication skills

  • A competitive annual gross base salary up to € 120.000 plus a bonus on top of your salary plus Global Reward Bonus at target

Application

Job interview(s)

After you have been selected and depending on the role, you will be invited for one or more job interviews. When both parties would like to continue the conversation you will be invited for an online assessement, also known as pre-employment tests. The purpose of the test is helping hiring manager determine whether a candidate has the skills, work style, knowlegde of personality to succeed in a the role.
