When you join our team of 8 finance professionals, you'll have the opportunity to learn how finance supports large-scale technology transformation at a global retailer. As an intern, you'll experience all aspects of technology finance: from the monthly close and reconciliations, to financial reporting and analysis, to business intelligence, dashboarding and the practical use of AI to make finance smarter. You'll work together with the rest of the team, from time to time also with colleagues from Ahold Delhaize's great local brands worldwide and you'll be responsible for your own projects.

You will support the Ahold Delhaize technology finance team, working on:

• Financial close & reconciliations: support the monthly close processes and perform reconciliations between financial systems, safeguarding accuracy and completeness in line with internal guidelines and accounting principles.
• Reporting & analysis: prepare internal reports and financial analyses, including analytical reviews of P&L and balance sheet movements to identify trends, risks and opportunities and support business decisions
• Dashboarding & AI: build and maintain dashboards (e.g. Power BI) to track spend, forecasts and KPIs, and explore AI tools to streamline reporting, analysis and recurring finance processes.
• Continuous improvement & stakeholder management: support initiatives to improve financial processes, tools and reporting standards, working with finance and diverse stakeholders across the business to deliver decision-ready outputs. 

In this position you will work 32-40 hours per week, partly from our headquarters in Zaandam and partly from home.

• You are currently pursuing an education at college/university level, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related field.
• You are analytical and accurate, with an eye for detail.
• You are enthusiastic and eager to learn, and you're not afraid to ask questions or challenge the way things are done.
• You are curious about technology and quick to adapt to new tools (PowerBI, AI, ..).
• You have good time management, coordination and communication skills.
• You have a good command of English, both written and spoken.
