How you can
make a difference

You will be part of the EU BPP Finance department of Ahold Delhaize Europe & Indonesia (AD EU). In this role you will be a key AD EU team player in the EU finance Tech team in growing and developing the broader strategic goals of EU&I Business Technology (EBT). 

You will drive the core financial cycles regarding two core EBT platforms. You will be financially responsible for EU Customer & Digital platform as well as for the global Adtech (Edge.os) monetization platform scaled & managed from EBT. You will drive, support and challenge the two platform MT’s to improve business performance, be financially predictable and help them in achieving the strategic business objectives.

Your new team 

As Business Controller EU Tech, you will be joining our EU Finance Tech team within the Finance BPP (Business Planning & Performance) department of Ahold Delhaize Europe & Indonesia. You will work closely with the MTs of the ADtech (Edge.os) and Customer & Digital platforms, supporting them in achieving strategic and financial objectives. Within this team you are the financial business partner supporting the EU&I Business Technology (EBT) MT by presentation of the financial results & KPI’s, preparing budget, creating business cases and all other topics related to finance.

The EBT team has the following platforms:

  • ADtech (Edge.os / Gambit) 
  • Customer & Digital 
  • Core Retail  
  • Data insights & analytics 
  • Tech enablement 

It is important to build strong relationships with your stakeholders in the Tech and European domain, this to stay informed about their results, initiatives and strategy so you can support on these. 

You will report into the Director Tech & Digital Europe, and work closely with the the two MT’s of the platforms ADtech (Edge.os) and Customer & Digital. 

Key focus areas of your role 

  • Providing detailed, actionable insights into the financial and non-financial performance of the European Digital domain by understanding and translating KPI’s, narratives, and analysis.
  • Creating value through building expertise and driving performance by financially supporting the Digital team in executing the European strategy.
  • Executing the budgeting and forecasting cycles for both platforms.
  • Initiating, supporting, and preparing business cases.
  • Reporting on actuals and supporting the business in achieving budgets and strategic goals.
  • Supporting the further scaling of our monetization platform in Europe and the US.

The ingredients you bring

  • A MSc degree in Finance or Economics and 5-7 years of relevant work experience in an international corporate or Tech environment
  • Solid knowledge of financial processes and preferably monetization, Digital & Tech processes
  • Strong analytical skills to analyze complex financial areas
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to act as a true business partner to senior stakeholders
  • Interest in defining new business and scaling capabilities
  • Proven presentation skills to write and present business insights based on financial reports
  • Fluency in English
