What does our International Traineeship entail?
Being active in Europe, the United States and Indonesia, our company’s challenges extend beyond country borders. We strongly believe that our future leaders should develop an international mindset. That’s exactly what we aspire toward in our international traineeships – three-year development programs that offer you the opportunity to launch your career at Ahold Delhaize. The program is built on three pillars: social and business development; technical and functional skills; and leadership development. You’ll also undertake at least three rotations among our different continental audit teams in the Netherlands and the US. To stimulate cross-functional learning, you’ll engage in inspiring learning sessions together with fellow trainees and other associates. Personal growth and development are key aspects of this program that prepare you to become a seasoned professional and our company’s future leader.

Internal audit plays a critical role in helping our organization operate effectively, ethically, and efficiently. It provides independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve operations. By assessing the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes, internal audit helps protect organizational assets, ensure compliance with laws and policies, and drive continuous improvement.


This function acts as a trusted advisor to management and the board by offering insights that support sound decision-making and long-term success. Our purpose is to Engage in Meaningful Change.


To become a seasoned internal audit professional, you will experience retail from the corporate side by having functional skills training and by working across all facets of our organization via the audits and projects you perform, including Supply Chain, Store Operations, Commerce and other activities of Ahold Delhaize. You will work with leaders across our organization to identify areas of risk, make valuable recommendations and influence positive change; all to help our Company achieve our purpose ~ inspiring everyone to eat and live better, for a healthier future for people and planet.

What are we looking for? •    Hold a Master degree, or will have it by the start of the traineeship. Any complementary certifications are a plus.
•    Up to two years (maximum) of working experience.
•    Business Acumen – the ability to understand organizational processes and objectives as well as obtain organizational insight through effective relationships.
•    Aptitude and desire to understand how technology (e.g., data analytics, general IT processes, robotic process automation, machine learning) impacts business processes.
•    The ability to communicate fluent in English (and preferably one of the following: Dutch, Greek, Serbian, Czech, Romanian or French) and the willingness to travel, including international travel
•    Reside in and are eligible to work in the Netherlands.

Application

Job interview(s)

After you have been selected and depending on the role, you will be invited for one or more job interviews. The job interview, which is a two way conversation, will take place online (via Teams) or at the office. You will be informed by the recruiter. This is your moment to shine (but you always do ofcourse)

Online Assessment

When both parties would like to continue the conversation you will be invited for an online assessement, also known as pre-employment tests. The purpose of the test is helping hiring manager determine whether a candidate has the skills, work style, knowlegde of personality to succeed in a the role.

Job Offer

We are thrilled to get you onboard and would like to offer you the job. In this phase we start the conversation about the details which comes with the job, such as compensation, benefits and other contract details.
