Ahold Delhaize Global is seeking a dynamic and driven Manager of Financial Reporting to join our team. In this pivotal role, you'll play a key part in executing the activities of our Financial Reporting team and you’ll be one of the main drivers of quality of our internal and external reporting based on IFRS. 
Above all, you’re a team-player. You’re the liaison between our Financial Reporting team and several of our retail brands. You support the brands with reporting and accounting related matters and provide guidance on applying accounting standards. Next to this you coordinate our Interim Financial Statements together with a team consisting of Investor Relations, Business Planning & Performance and communications. Also, together with the financial reporting team, you will take a significant role in the preparation of our Annual Report, lead or support ad-hoc projects and maintain the Ahold Delhaize accounting policies.

As Manager Financial Reporting, you will be joining the Ahold Delhaize Global Finance department, based in Zaandam.  
You will be given the freedom and responsibility to take ownership of your work and broaden your horizons by working together with knowledgeable colleagues from different countries who have an abundance of expertise in many areas. We will continuously support you and help you build on your talents and skills for the future.  
As our new Manager Financial Reporting you will be part of the External Reporting team, that consists of seven collaborative, hardworking and fun colleagues. You will be reporting directly into the Vice-President External Reporting. 
With this, you will be part of the broader Ahold Delhaize Finance team, which is focused on creating value and driving growth by providing analytical insight, by partnering with our businesses to align performance with strategy and by embedding a proactive risk management culture throughout Ahold Delhaize. 

 

Key responsibilities of your role

  • Coordinate and prepare the quarterly interim financial statements.
  • Liaise between the Financial Reporting team and a number of brands and help these brands with the application of various accounting matters
  • Review analytical procedures on the quarterly reporting pack (IRP) submitted by the reporting entities. The focus of the analytical review is to ensure proper application of Ahold Delhaize GAAP and consistency of reporting across the Group.
  • Maintain specialist knowledge of the accounting topics relevant to the Group and actively monitors any IFRS and accounting developments, with a focus on share-based payments and earnings per share. 
  • Conduct accounting literature research and document conclusions in a clear and concise manner. 
  • Prepare and review notes to the consolidated financial statements.
  • Respond to ad-hoc analytical information requests from senior financial line management and other corporate center departments.
  • Lead and/or support ad-hoc multidisciplinary Group Office Support projects, such as implementation of new accounting standards and transactions.

We think you’ll be best geared for success if you meet the following requirements:  

  • Work well within a team, have integrity and humor and are hands-on. 
  • Combine a Master’s degree in Finance/ Business/ Economics with a minimum of 6-8 years of relevant work experience, e.g. in audit, coming from Big4. 
  • Have finished or are currently getting their RA/CPA or equivalent
  • Bring a critical and analytical mindset, with an eye for detail and accuracy. 
  • Are fluent in English, language proficiency in Dutch and other languages relevant for the group’s operating area are a plus.
  • Understand and apply knowledge to complex projects and processes. 
  • Work and communicate well with colleagues across all parts of the organization and with senior management. 

Aside from these hard skills, we think you should also bring some much-valued soft skills to the table: an entrepreneurial mindset, a proactive approach and you are a teamplayer. In addition to these, an good eye for detail, empathy, and enthusiasm will take you far.
