Your new work environment
In this exciting entry-level role, you will contribute to up-to-date financial reporting of our business results. You will do this fully in compliance with all laws and regulations regarding risks and control measures. As a business controller, you will make an impact by collaborating with your internal stakeholders (business partners) whilst ensuring all actual numbers and financial statements are up to date. The goal is to add value by setting achievable goals, monitoring and analyzing them to identify further opportunities and risks, especially for IT control.
Key responsibilities of your role
As a Business Controller IT, you’ll be responsible for financial- and business control activities, supporting the global IT Platforms used within Ahold Delhaize. Your responsibilities include:
- Contributing to the implementation of our business strategy, gaining insights into all facets of the organization, and serving as the finance representative and sparring partner.
- Ensuring smooth administration in cooperation with our Corporate Accounting department, financial service provider, and IT business teams. This includes preparing periodic financial reports.
- Developing, implementing, and utilizing efficient systems to keep financial-economic planning and control figures up to date.
- Preparing and monitoring budgets, forecasting financial information, and conducting analyses to minimize gaps between budgets and actual performance.
- Monitoring and managing financial KPIs in your focus areas (AD Group IT), including investments, working capital, profitability, and the (strategic) financial impact of decisions, following internal guidelines.
- Collecting and interpreting quantitative and qualitative economic/financial data to improve market analyses.
- Working in local and international project teams to prepare business cases, align budgets, share best practices, and achieve IT savings for Ahold Delhaize worldwide.
Ahold Delhaize is one of the world’s largest food retail groups and a market leader in supermarkets and e-commerce. We are also a frontrunner in sustainability within the industry. Our strong local brands serve over 50 million customers weekly across Europe, the United States, and Indonesia.
