Overview
The Ahold Delhaize Group IT works in a highly complex and highly matrixed environment, with members in global and local IT teams. Since the merger of Ahold and Delhaize in 2016, it is the ambition of AD Group Technology to leverage the scale of Ahold Delhaize to drive value for the organization; on one hand to drive down costs while on the other hand to receive R&D focus from vendors like Microsoft, Google, SAP to drive transformation for the business. Our team ensures OpCo-IT and business customers are satisfied through reliable global IT services/products, on-time delivery of additional/new functionality all while meeting financial targets for our stakeholders. The Product Owner not only is the single point of contact but also has a strong coordinating role within IT.
The Product Owner is responsible for representing the client's interests and works closely with the Scrum Master and the scrum team to get started with the development and improvement of the products. In addition, the Product Owner is the designated person for identifying, prioritizing and managing the product backlog, monitoring the progress of the delivered products and monitoring the performance of the products. The Product Owner makes agreements with the scrum team about the realization of (sub) projects regarding the development, innovation and management of products, services and systems (technical, functional and operational) to support the business operations of the business unit concerned, with the aim of developing maximum business value.
Your Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Product Strategy & Planning
- Formulates a vision from the (business) strategy, customer perspective and technical capabilities which fits to the objectives and needs of customers and stakeholders
- Processing of the vision and developing a product roadmap, defining epics and user stories, while taking into account the business needs and external developments, in close consultation with relevant stakeholders
- Develop a vision of what is needed to operate a stable product and/or innovate on operations

2. Creating Business Value
- Responsible for implementation of vision and roadmap, successfully deliver and manage products / systems / processes that maximize business value
- Steering on ROI / Savings / Revenue targets and adjusting when necessary to achieve targets
- Coordinate regularly on the business needs and thereby maximize satisfaction levels on the deliverables
- Ensuring a stable operating product so that business value can always be delivered
3. Backlog Management
- Continuously build, adjust and maintain the backlog with identified improvements / optimizations
- Assure requirements meet intake criteria to effectively define workload and planning
- Describe (sub) projects in terms of prioritization, impact, costs and description
- Prioritize activities within the backlog in alignment with stakeholders
- Ensure that operational / management requirements get proper prioritization on the backlog
- Ensure complete and accepted definition of done
- Briefing of the scrum team on various activities on the backlog and agree on the content of sprints and deliverables
- Monitor progress and result of sprints and assess qualities based on intended velocity
- Accept or substantiate rejection of sprint result
4. Development & Operations
- Improve and / or conceptual development of new and existing functionality in conjunction with the scrum team to deliver the masterplan (including concept, user story and business case)
- Managing the roadmap and backlog to support innovation and development of the products in close collaboration with business owners
- Follow the development of competitors and the industry in general and the latest developments related to the product
- Review and develop case studies and prioritize of stories and epics to achieve alignment on the product strategy
- Prepare testing, implementation and go live of functionalities
- Responsible for the system / systems that support the products and focus on the Product Lifecycle
- Responsible for the operational and non-functional requirements such as availability, capacity, performance, continuity and the implementation
- Responsible for resolving the cause of incidents, 7x24 when necessary, by the Scrum team by workarounds and in permanent solutions
- Responsible to provide knowledge, documentation, configuration and support characteristics to the support organizations
- Responsible for system compliancy regarding the data privacy requirements, information security requirements, audit compliance , control requirements and with the license requirements
- Responsible for the cost of the systems in the entire LifeCycle and a correct ratio between the added value and cost
- Monitors and controls on the main KPIs and customer journeys of the product, backlog accordingly and prioritization of new initiatives / coordination of the new concept’s agenda
5. Plan & Organize
- Planning and prioritizing the product development and the product functionalities
- Helping at the start of a project to define the 'What' and 'How'
- Elaboration of concepts based on analysis and priorities
- Leading release plans and setting expectations for delivering new capabilities
- Preparation of periodic and ad hoc reports regarding project status
6. Stakeholders & Team
- Transparent and on time delivery of information, communication and advice to various stakeholders including suppliers
- Ensure that the interests of stakeholders are represented in the scrum team
- Builds and maintain an intensive collaboration with the scrum teams and other stakeholders including suppliers
- Keeping stakeholders connected during the creative and development process
- Shares vision to the scrum team
- Engage the scrum team and stakeholders including suppliers
- Coordinates with the Scrum Master about the development of the scrum te
Your profile
- Bachelor’s degree in IT and/or Business or similar work experience
- Strongly preferred is a minimum of 8 years or more of similar experience as an PO
- Senior IT professional who has broad experience operating as a strategic business partner and has made a discernible impact on the successful development and transformation of a business Successful experience working within matrix environments where working across boundaries and leading through influence are critical to success
- Fluent in English, excellent communicator
