How you can
make a difference

FoodTech is hot! You want: architecture, greenfield engineering, impact, and scale. You don’t want: to move away from coding as your core activity. If that is you, continue reading ðŸ™‚

The company: About AH Technology, food retail reinventors

Albert Heijn goes way back. More than 130 years, to be exact. So, for millions of people, food shopping is synonymous with the Albert Heijn brand. We didn’t achieve this with a complacent, ‘hey, if it works today, it’ll work tomorrow’ approach but by continually rethinking our propositions and staying plugged into customer demands.

Over 1,000 stores? Check.

The leading online food retail platform? Check.

We build it, we run it, and we love it. ðŸ˜‰

So, what’s next? Accelerating our transition into a hybrid Food & Tech company is. We want to leverage data and technology to future-proof food shopping and make better food more easily accessible to everyone. At AH Technology, you collaborate with inspiring peers in the data, digital and tech domains. A community of diverse individuals who share a common goal; to create digital solutions that simplify shopping and are more inspiring, whether online or in our stores.

Are you ready to reinvent how millions buy and enjoy their food? We invest heavily in tech. And that includes investing in your career!

The job

Our Engineering enablement department aims to accelerate our teams worldwide to deliver quality customer value faster and autonomously. We provide this enablement power on technical platforms, Cloud, technical paved roads, and DevSecOps tooling. Examples of great products that we deliver are “Storm” (our cloud framework and platform) and “Beast” (our engineering paved roads). Built with and for our engineering community.

As a Tech Product Manager within Engineering Enablement, you’ll work with several product owners and engineering teams to understand their business flows and our developers' current challenges and accelerate Observability throughout the organization. Using your experience and knowledge, you will focus on making our developers happy and optimizing our time to market for new features and services.

You will drive the product vision, direct strategic initiatives, and the creation of product roadmaps in collaboration with your product teams and your main stakeholders.

If you:

  • are passionate about improving the developer experience and making developers happy.
  • are a self-starter, energized by a challenge?
  • enjoy being part of the larger enablement community and helping us get better every day.

Then look no further.

This is how you will reinvent food retail.

  • Define the product vision and roadmap for our Observability product (Cerebro).
  • Define requirements for our Cloud products, technical platforms, or paved roads with state-of-the-art technology.
  • Work closely with developers, SREs (Site Reliability Engineering), product & engineering teams, (Senior) Engineering Managers and directors to gather new requirements, create solutions, plan deliveries, and drive the adoption.
  • Define OKRs (Objectives and Key Results), manage expectations, identify risks, and build dashboards to measure progress.

Your ‘shopping list’

  • 6+ years of experience as a Technical Product Manager, (Sr.) Technical Product Owner, or any other relevant experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in the Observability or Monitoring space.
  • Have a clear vision of the Observability domain.
  • Be an advocate of your team toward your group of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience conceiving, launching, and scaling developer experience-based tools and products.
  • Understanding of the tools our Engineers use for application development, CI/CD processes, and systems to highlight pain points.
  • An understanding of Agile, LEAN, and iterative software development.
  • Are an advocate of your team towards your group of stakeholders.
  • Excellent communicator on every level, including peers, management, and engineers.
  • Great oral and written skills.

In the end, you are taking full ownership of the Observability product to guide product teams into the future of Monitoring, Alerting, Logging, and Tracing.

Our offer

  • An annual salary of up to 100k (excl. bonus)  based on a full-time workweek.
  • Attractive bonus plan around 12k, travel expenses, a laptop, and a smartphone.
  • Generous retirement plan with a solid contribution from Albert Heijn.
  • 32,5 days of paid leave to enjoy your well-deserved holidays.
  • An employer that combines the best of two worlds: the career opportunities of a corporate and the drive and autonomy ‘to boldly go where no one has gone before’ typifies scaleups.
