How you can
make a difference

Health & Sustainability is one of Ahold Delhaize’s four strategic pillars, supporting our ambition to lead the transition to a healthy and sustainable food system. As Manager ESG Reporting, you will ensure Ahold Delhaize’s global ESG approach is in line with latest expectations from internal and external stakeholders.

Hi, we are Ahold Delhaize
Helping people eat well, save time, and live better. That is what Ahold Delhaize stands for. Ahold Delhaize entails over 7,500 stores with more than 413,000 associates, characterized by trusted brands with strong local identities in more than seven countries.

This is what you’ll be doing
As Manager ESG Reporting, you deliver clear and effective health and sustainability communications on Ahold Delhaize’s results that increase visibility and awareness among internal and external stakeholders, including the Executive Committee and Supervisory Board, investors and strategic external partners. You will set up processes, controls and procedures to collect accurate and complete data for key KPI’s such as carbon emissions (scope 1, 2 and 3), healthy sales, food waste and plastic packaging.

The 19 retail brands within Ahold Delhaize’s group are responsible for data collection based on the instructions received from the ESG Reporting team. You will work together closely with US and EU retail brands to align instructions and confirm that data is gathered in accordance with these instructions. Furthermore, you will drive projects across regions and brands, including the further implementation and embedding of the EU Taxonomy and preparation for the CSRD and related European Sustainability Reporting Standards.

You will be part of the ESG Reporting team, which is accountable for regulatory compliance to EU Taxonomy, Non-Financial Reporting Directive (NFRD), and, in future, the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and International Sustainability Standards (ISSB). To achieve this result, the team anticipates requirements, keeps up to date with regulations and addresses problems by coming up with effective and efficient solutions and analyses. The team is part of the Group Tax & Accounting Department, where you’ll report directly to Maryke Keet, Director ESG Reporting.

Dive wholeheartedly into these key responsibilities

  • Deliver and support credible and accurate internal quarterly reporting on non-financial/ ESG performance and external reporting on ESG progress.
  • Actively support the Health & Sustainability team in the H&S external communications and engagement with internal and external audiences to drive understanding of and visibility to Ahold Delhaize H&S strategy and performance.
  • Lead global and regional projects and initiatives, working together closely with the other ESG Reporting Managers within the team.
  • Determine, set and maintain -based upon legal requirements and guidance- our external ESG reporting requirements to ensure it is up to standard.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the relevant (for example, H&S, Finance and Human Resources) teams in the regions, building strong cross-functional networks and guiding & inspiring teams.
  • As part of the team, develop and deliver relevant trainings to cross-functional teams in the field of ESG reporting to make sure a consistent message is delivered, and data is collected in a consistent way between continents and brands.
