About the job 
Ahold Delhaize has recognized the opportunity of Retail Media, dubbed The 3rd Wave (after Search and Social Media) and started retail media in Europe 10 years ago at Albert Heijn. Since then we’ve seen uninterrupted double digit growth surfing that wave in the Benelux driven by Albert Heijn Media Services and Bol.com Retail Media. Both are broadly considered to be leaders in retail media, holding an innovative first mover track record & vast privacy proof 1st party data.

 

In your role as Manager Media Partnerships Retail Media you will focus on building and maintaining partnerships with publishers (purchasing) and media agencies (sales) for sufficient effective and relevant off-site advertising positions at attractive costs. More specifically relationship management, contracting (initiating and implementing annual deals), volume management (sufficient supply) and technology (organizing a seamless connection). As Manager Media Partnerships Retail Media you have a position within the Dutch Ahold Delhaize retail media team that offers advertisers and media agencies both effective and relevant media propositions. Based on 1st party data and shopper context we create powerful communication and activation solutions for our advertisers putting their brands and products in the spotlight. Collaboration and alignment with the (key) account managers of the retail media organizations of Albert Heijn Media Services (AHMS) and Bol.com Retail Media (BRM) is an ongoing part of the role.

 

Surf’s up! Together with a small team you will focus on: 

  • Building partnerships with operators/ publishers 
  1. Building partnerships with operators/publishers such as: DPG, RTL, Talpa, TMG, RTL, Mediahuis (possible in due course including Google, Meta, TikTok, Snap, etc.). Regular contact with multiple stakeholders in DMU;
  2. Negotiating contracts and buying media from operators/publishers at attractive costs & conditions, in coordination with Ahold Media purchasing; 
  3. Forecasting and monitoring required inventory (supply) vs expected demand;
  4. Organizing technical coordination and connection incl. ID resolution (with support from technical colleagues), Ad servers and DSPs; 
  • Building partnerships with media agencies: 
  1. Building partnerships with media agencies (trading & investment teams) such as: GroupM, Dentsu, IPG, Publicis, OmniconMediaGroup, etc. Regular contact with multiple stakeholders in DMU;
  2. Negotiating annual contracts with media agencies in collaboration with sales rep/sales director at attractive prices & conditions;
  3. Organizing technical coordination/connection incl. APIs to preferred/desk tools and performance measurement (with support of technical colleagues). 
  • Identify and develop/support distinctive media propositions.

What do you bring?

  • Combines a Bachelor or Master degree with 10 years of relevant work experience, e.g., in a management position within the media industry or publisher; 
  • Demonstrable experience in digital media. Specific knowledge of digital media products (such as Display, Search, Sponsored Products, Video, Digital Out Of Home, Direct and Programmatic, Self Service Platforms, etc.); 
  • Experience with (negotiating) annual contracts with media agencies:
  • Knowledge of AdTech (identity resolution), DSP, AdServers etc.; 
  • Network with media agencies, publishers and advertisers;
  • Command of both the Dutch and English language at a high level.
