Our Global Support Office (GSO) is based in Zaandam in the Netherlands, but GSO associates also work in all the countries we serve. This team supports all our great local brands in finance, HR, IT, legal, communications, sustainable retailing, and other key functions. .

Job Objective:
As Enterprise IAM Architect with Ahold Delhaize, you will play a crucial role in defining and implementing a robust identity and access management landscape. You co-define the IAM strategy and roadmap, own the end-to-end IAM architecture, oversee and optimize the identity lifecycle, develop core IAM policies and principles, coach and cooperate with the different IAM technical architects, and stay abreast of the latest IAM technology trends and evolutions. To translate the strategy and target states into solutions, roadmaps and programs, you will partner with the global Information Security Office, Human Resources (HR) and the different technology teams.

This function is situated within the global IT architecture & strategy department reporting to the SVP IT Strategy & Architecture. This department is responsible for defining the overall IT strategy, technology target states and governing key technology decisions.

Ahold & Delhaize is embarking on a strategic multi-year program to transform its IAM landscape into a more robust and simplified end-state. This function will serve as a pivotal force within that program.

As enterprise IAM architect you will have the following responsibilities:

Identity Governance and Administration (IGA)

  • Develop and enforce identity governance policies and standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to identity management.
  • Standardize user identification process, access management and account lifecycle, with brand specific variation.
  • Design cloud identity federation and data synchronization.

Access Management

  • Design and enforce access control policies and procedures.
  • Design and implement global Single sign on and self-service password reset functionalities.
  • Design and implement our target state directory services landscape.

Certificate Management

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive certificate management strategy and policy.
  • Design and implement and manage certificate lifecycle processes and solutions.
  • Design and implement a Private Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).

Privileged Access Management (PAM)

  • Design identity and secured privileged access throughout entire infrastructure, including DevOps, hybrid, multi-cloud, and on-prem deployments.
  • Develop comprehensive PAM standards, KPIs & seamlessly incorporate into enterprise solution risk assessments.
  • Establish effective & centralized global PAM governance framework.

IAM integration services

  • Design and maintain IAM integration patterns.

IAM architecture governance

  • Establish and maintain IAM architecture governance processes and bodies.
  • Review design approval processes to ensure consistent IAM standards.
  • Chair the IAM architecture board



  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in architectural roles.
  • Proven track record of successfully designing and implementing identity and access management governance and solutions.
  • Experience working on large-scale enterprise IAM initiatives in both on-prem and cloud that include multiple impact teams across the enterprise (e.g. M&A’s, IAM transformations)


  • In-depth knowledge of identity governance and administration principles and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of access management concepts and technologies such as oauth, saml, passwordless, OpenID connect.
  • Strong understanding of directory services concepts and technologies such as LDAP, Active Directory, Entra ID.
  • Expertise in privileged access management and associated solutions and best practices.
  • Expertise in certificate management and associated protocols.

Communication and Collaboration

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead discussions on identity and access management topics.

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or similar.
