As a data platform engineer, you will be working on our data platform named Thor. With Thor, we want to create a self-service, metadata driven data platform where data producers can share their data with the data consumers without the platform team being the bottleneck. This means that we are working hard to enable our users so they can do as much as possible themselves and we can focus on improving and optimizing our pipelines and codebase.


A few cool new features we have recently implemented:

  • Smart Scheduling that dynamically changes data pipeline configuration based on historical statistics.
  • A versioned data platform that allows the product to scale to other brands
  • Documentation that writes itself

This is how you will reinvent food retail.

  • You lead the design and implementation of a scalable data platform architecture on Azure in alignment with the product and platform architect.
  • You act as the technical subject matter expert (SME) and provide guidance on best practices, architectural decisions, and technology adoption.
  • You develop CI/CD pipelines, automation scripts, and infrastructure as code (IaC) templates to streamline deployment processes and ensure consistency.
  • You collaborate with the technical leads in the platform and work together towards a Data Enablement suite
  • You mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • You optimize performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency of data pipelines and analytics workloads on Databricks.
  • You enable data producers with self-service capabilities on our data platform granting them the freedom to autonomously share their data to the rest of the organization for data driven insights.
  • You stay informed latest developments on technologies and industry trends, and evaluate their potential impact on our data platform strategy.

Together with your team of platform engineers you will work on inspiring projects to accelerate our transition into a hybrid Food & Tech company. The recipe for maximum impact 

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in software development out of which 5+ years of industrial experience in the domain of large-scale data platform teams (building a data product), data engineering.
  • Hands-on experience incl. solid programming experience in data ingestions patterns (streaming).
  • Curious, proactive, fast learner able to quickly picking-up new areas.
  • Experience with agile methodologies.
  • Perfect communication skills.

When both parties would like to continue the conversation you will be invited for an online assessement, also known as pre-employment tests.
