As Manager Technical Accounting EU you are responsible for interpretation and alignment of accounting topics and maintaining Financial Reporting procedures for our brands in the EU. You’ll be working together with colleagues who have a broad range of professional experience in an international global finance environment.

Your new work environment
As Manager Technical Accounting, you’ll be joining the Finance team at European Business Services (EBS), a shared services organization dedicated to helping Ahold Delhaize’s great European brands achieve their strategic goals. All our Finance teams are filled with smart, high-performing finance professionals who enjoy pioneering and taking ownership of their work.
European Business Services Finance is taking the next step in strengthening its organization to enable and help realize the ambitious Brand strategies, the global ESG reporting objectives and the ongoing automation and digitization roadmaps. EU Financial Control will focus on alignment of period and quarterly reporting and closing procedures. Key is to deliver valuable financial insights to European management and EU business control based on complete and accurate financial accounting processes.
Key responsibilities of your role
Your role is highly diverse and encompasses various responsibilities. Here are the key ones:
• Provide accounting guidance
You provide accounting guidance on accounting topics (in line with the AD Accounting Manual) within the EU. You keep up to date with developments in the Ahold Delhaize Accounting Manual and assures implementation in EU.
• Development of EU policies and procedures
You develop, implement and maintain EU policies and procedures, which will help the alignment of finance processes within the brands and will improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Participate in EU projects
You define or participate in EU projects to provide accounting guidance as well as guidance on streamlining, standardization and automation of our financial processes and reporting. You participate in EU projects for guidance and support on financial set-up and accounting treatment of new initiatives.
Furthermore, you’ll:
• Ensure alignment with corporate and EU policies procedures and local requirements;
• Maintain the chart of accounts and reporting structures for EU
• Coordinate audits with external auditor and tax department and makes sure audits are timely completed;

Requirements
We think you’ll be best geared for success if you meet the following requirements:
• Have a university degree in business studies or business economics, preferably combined with a degree in controlling or accounting (RC, RA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent)
• Able to collaborate across boundaries (functions, brands, and geographies) to build strategic relationships and achieve common goals
• At least 6 years’ experience in Finance, preferably in Audit, Accounting or Financial Control
• Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)
